15 of the best floral wedding dresses UK for 2024

Martin Thornburg's MT3206 has the most perfect floral detail, giving it an ethereal edge

In the middle of September, the Buzz team spent three days at Britain’s biggest bridal trade exhibition in Harrogate and loved to soak up the buzzing (couldn’t resist!) atmosphere as all the world’s top designers presented their new dress collections to the boutiques who stocked them.

The trends we discovered for 2024 have been well documented in this feature here, but the biggest trend of all – and the one we can’t stop thinking about – is floral wedding dresses. Actually, not just dresses – accessories, shoes, veils – the tiniest details to the biggest decorative 3D embellishment – laser cut flowers from shoulders to toes… Bold prints and the edging of veils, too.

Even though you’re almost certainly incorporating this classic wedding element into your décor on the big day (what’s a bride without a bouquet?), we love to see brides incorporate florals in other areas of their on-the-day theme, too.

Nothing says romance quite like flowers, right? Yes, not only can you carry flowers on the big day, but you can wear them, too! One of the great things about ‘floral’ as an aesthetic is that it never dates. Big and bold or tiny and intricate, flowers will always be in vogue. With that in mind, we pick our favourite floral wedding dresses of the season, giving you the opportunity to bring some real flower power to your big day…

A splash of colour

What will your bridesmaids wear? Everyone loves a floral print, especially if your girl gang is dressed in a mix and match kind of way! Or bring in a subtle touch of colour to your wedding dress with a fine flourish of floral.

Bold prints

It all started back in the early 2000s when designer Alan Hannah created a dress that was hand-painted with lilies. Now the creme de la creme of wedding dress designers are incoporating bold floral prints into their collections – take Josephine Scott for example.

All in the detail

Along with bold designer prints, multicoloured floral embroidery is having its day, where bright florals are applied to white, ivory, nude or blush fabrics. This look is perfect for brides who love the idea of wearing colour, but don’t want to break away from tradition.

Say it with flowers: Floral accessories

Incorporating flower elements in your accessories is one of our favourite ways to up the romance factor on your big-day look. Start with floral statement earrings, add in a hair piece or some cure little pins or simply wear a flower, like the proverbial cherry on top!
