Top wedding dress trends for 2024 from Bridal Week

Finding the perfect dress might mean bypassing your dream – because what you have always imagined yourself wearing just might not be the dress that makes you truly happy. And that’s the crux of it all, isn’t it? Feeling as happy as can be, surrounded by those you love the most.
But before you even embark on sifting through all the taffeta and tulle at your local boutique, you should remember that while all the trends, silhouettes, fabrics and hemlines in the world could be in front of you, these will only help you to streamline your choice. You absolutely still have to do YOU!
We have recently returned from the big trade exhibition – Bridal Week in Harrogate, where we identified the key wedding dress trends for 2024 and 2025 brides… The dresses we saw will start to appear in boutiques in the new year, and you have a treat in store if that’s when you plan to start your search.
Amid the sea of lace and sparkle, we saw pearls – and lots of them, magical minis, sensational separates as well as detachable sleeves, straps and the biggest bows we have ever seen!
1 3D Florals
Princess dresses will feature fabulous embellishments and even a splash of colour. A great example of this – Clover by Casablanca Bridal. And A’El Este’s floral mini is just sensational.

2 Magical Minis
Perfect for a second dress, an elopement, a fun registry office ‘official bit’ and as soon on Sophie Habboo and other celebrities, mini dresses are IN! Marylise’s Riverside.

3 Cool Colours
From baby bink to cornflower blue, we love the coloured gowns that graced the catwalk and halls at Bridal Week. Here we have Gaia Bridal’s Bluebell.

4 Fabulous Feathers
So so glam! Feathers were everywhere – as edging, on necklines and forming layers and layers of ruffles on some of the top designer dresses. This is Dando London’s Ravishing.

5 Big Sleeves
Jaw-dropping, show-stopping, detachable sleeves are the biggest trend of all this season… Big, puffy detachable sleeves giving a second look and cute, cute vibes. Featuring Jessica Couture’s Alice.

6 Separates
Literally mix and match – designers are offering collections that allow you to pick and choose from a selection of garments that work perfectly together for your big-day look. Kate Beaumont’s Forget Me Not is a beautiful example of separates coming together.

7 Beaucoup Bows
Bows are back and bigger than ever! We are talking centre stage – back of the dress, sculptured bows and are twice as wide as the bride. Ellis Bridal’s Rebecca features the perfect bow.

8 Exposed Corsetry
This Chicago-the-musical-1920’s-inspired silhouette not only serves as a form of internal support, which could negate the need for a bra, but also gives a bride a fashion-forward look. This is Paul Zeni’s Harmony with the inside out corsetry.

So ON TREND
So ON TREND… Lovebird by Dando London features many of the new trends for the uber fashion-forward bride.

In summary, the best wedding dress for you is the one that SAYS ‘you’. Looks like you, makes you happy, feels comfortable and looks like the one you might still be excited to look at in photographs for years to come.
