A Romantic Work Whirlwind

Georgina and Thomas first met eyes across the office printer in 2015. A few more coincidental trips to the printer led to the exchange of phone numbers and eight years on the couple said “I do” surrounded by their loved ones.

“After a few messages and spending more time together in and out of work, it became pretty clear we loved to be around one another,” smiles Georgina. “Eight years later, we live together in a beautiful house with our lovable dog and a memory bank of wonderful holidays and experiences we’ve shared.”

Wedding Wardrobe

Georgina made her bridal entrance in an elegant satin, fishtail gown with a straight, strapless neckline. The sophisticated style was perfect for the modern manor wedding venue, where the couple were set to exchange vows. She found her dress, ‘Seraphine’ by Elysee Bridal Design, in TDR Bridal – the first store she visited!

“I visited four different boutiques and must have tried on about 20 dresses! But it was the first dress from the very first shop that was the one. It was the only dress that brought a tear to my eye and when I came out of the fitting room my mum and sisters squealed with excitement,” Georgina reveals.

Complimenting her gown, Georgina wore a pearl-studded veil, pearl earrings and carried a pearl clutch bag. In the evening the beautiful bride changed into a second dress so that she could dance the night away without feeling restricted.

The bridesmaids walked down the aisle in full-length gowns with an elegant v-neckline from Morilee. The taupe shade was in keeping with the neutral colour scheme. The flower girls wore white dresses with pearl accessories, matching those of the bride.

Thomas and the groomsmen looked dashing in black tie suits from Slaters. They finished the look with patent black shoes, a white rose buttonhole and a black bow tie. Thomas stood out in a slightly different shirt featuring black buttons.

A Modern Manor Wedding Venue

Georgina, Thomas and their 186 wedding guests were treated like royalty at Hampton Manor, where the couple had chosen to spend their special day. With menus created and cooked by chef Stuart Deeley – MasterChef Professional Champion 2019 – the modern manor wedding venue is renowned for its delicious foodie offerings.

“When picking a venue we decided food and the menu options were an important factor for us. We chose to have lamb fillet for our main course – it was delicious! In the evening we opted for chicken in chips, served in baskets and handed to guests so that they didn’t have to leave the party in search of evening food,” The couple tells us.

Hampton Manor is a breathtaking estate set in 45 acres of beautiful grounds. With a working kitchen garden, a rich history and a thoroughly modern approach, it is a stunning setting in which to tie the knot.

Home from Home

The couple chose to style their modern manor wedding venue with timeless details in a neutral colour scheme.

“We wanted the venue to have the feeling of being a home away from home, so we chose to style our wedding with the same colour scheme as in our own home – warm, calm and neutral tones with plenty of texture and character,” Georgina explains.

White and taupe garden roses were paired with fluffy pampas grass to create beautiful floral arrangements with tons of texture. In the ceremony, white sashes were tied to chairs and finished with a white rose adding elegant details to the aisle. Towering floral arrangements framed the end of the aisle and filled the room with a beautiful scent.

A Day of Dancing

This couple danced their way through their wedding, having the time of their lives throughout the entire day.

Georgina describes one of her favourite parts of the day, “One of my favourite memories from the day is when the brass band, Big Smoke Brass, surprised our guests as we walked out of the ceremony. They created a really fun walking procession to our drinks reception, playing a bespoke arrangement of Love on Top – for those three minutes I felt like I was Beyoncé!”

Another favourite moment for the couple was dancing into their wedding breakfast.

“Everyone in the room had the biggest of smiles as they danced and clapped. Once we got to the top table our parents joined us in sharing a step or two!”

Best Big Day Tips

“We had a ‘wedding pot’ but we would often make smaller purchases, like accessories and stationery, out of our monthly salary. This meant the budget wasn’t touched as often and we didn’t miss the money, as we would have normally just spent it at the bar of a weekend,” Georgina tells us. “I would advise couples to trust their gut when it comes to choosing their suppliers. Make sure you get a photo in the Photo Booth if you hire one and in the morning if you think you have allowed enough time, add an extra hour!”
