A fun day in the summer sun! The most romantic wedding in Kent for Olivia and Aaron, who set tradition aside to do things their own way, which included the wedding being vegetarian and vegan. The best decision they made.

Over to Olivia to tell us her story…

How did you meet, and when?

We met at the gym in 2018. I had seen him around and fancied him for a while!

How many dresses did you try on before you found The One?

I think about six!

What made it your ONE?

Nearly every dress I had tried on (without knowing!) was Madi Lane so I knew that that was my style and vibe. I went online and saw my dress, ordered it in to The Bridal Boutique of Jules to try on and it was exactly what I wanted!

What did you do for your hen do?

Me and my bridesmaids went to Ibiza!

Was there a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?

We went a bit Boho, with peach, white, nude colours, daisies and so on.

How did you decorate your venue?

Mainly with florals, a floral arch, photobooth and candles.

How did you feel walking down the aisle?

So nervous, but excited to see Arron at the end of the aisle..

What were your best decisions for the wedding?

I’d say, not scrimping on photographers and our videographer because memories last a lifetime! Also, keeping the day guest list to 79 and having a band! Also DIYing a fair bit to save money helped.

Did you make any cost savings, and how?

I handmade our place names, interior signage, memorial stand, invites, thank-you cards, our Sip and Solve wedding game, our table numbers and table plan. We also didn’t do favours.

What were your favourite moments?

Walking down the aisle, getting ready in the morning with my girls, the speeches, the dancing to the band… Loved it all!

Any funny things happen? Embarrassing moments?

A whole table was knocked over with red wine going everywhere!

Did you follow all the traditions?

No we didn’t, we aren’t the most traditional.

What were the challenges of planning the wedding?

Caring for a baby when the wedding planning started, plus making all the payments close to the wedding. Unknown payments coming out of everywhere and bits I hadn’t planned for.

Anything you would have done differently?

Hmm my Arron’s only job was to send our DJ playlist to the band (that we had spent hours making) so that they could play it between sets, but he forgot, and the band just put a generic playlist on. It’s one of the things I would’ve definitely changed, I loved the playlist we had made!

What advice do you have for other brides?

Spend money in the right areas and save in areas that don’t matter as much. Make it unique to you! Put personal details in there, things that are unique to you and your partner, for example, I am vegan and my husband is vegetarian so we had a vegan-vegetarian wedding.
