Five top wedding dress trends with Gaia Bridal

wedding dress trends

We talk wedding dress trends with one of the bridal world’s coolest design houses – Gaia Bridal. Trends exist for a reason – they are quite simply the style of dress that brides wear, or at least look for when they shop for their dress in a bridal boutique. Bridal trends tend to loosely follow catwalk trends – though not to the cutting-edge extreme we saw in Paris and Milan. Wedding dress trends change subtly and in bridal fashion ‘timeless elegance’ is almost always preferred over ‘haute couture’.

That said, it’s easy to see what’s en vogue by looking at the top designers, who we saw in all their finery at Bridal Week, Harrogate, including our good friends at Gaia Bridal, whose designer Maria Ryan certainly has her finger on the pulse. Here we select the gowns that hit those trends and some…

2. Pearls and sparkle

Gypsophila

A soft A-line gown with an illusion-panelled sheer bodice, Gypsophila is scattered with delicate pearls but literally sparkles all day and into the night… The pearl strap detailing is the perfect finishing touch.

3. Swag sleeve

Tulip

Gaia gives a strapless wedding dress style an extra romantic touch by adding lace pearl-studded swag sleeves. Off-the-shoulder gowns are literally everywhere, and it’s fascinating to see the designers’ individual take on them. Tulip – a fitted gown with a boned Illusion bodice and draping at the waist. Made from a shimmering beaded fabric.

4. Modern Princess

Posy

Do you dare? A full-skirted ball gown – Posy with dramatic detachable sleeves, was created for brides who want to make a show-stopping, jaw-dropping entrance. A full princess-style ballgown for the modern bride, we are IN!

5.Pearly Queen

Dhalia

Talking of two looks for one, Gaia Bridal boutique stockists offer a range of accessories to work with all of the dresses in their collection, including a puff sleeve, a beautiful big bow, an off-the-shoulder strap, a collar and a gorgeous tulle polka dot sleeve. We call it the Box of Tricks!
