A flower-filled marquee wedding celebration in the countryside for this fabulous couple. Kirsty and Jack share their story… Prepare for a burst of floral inspiration!

A Blossoming Romance
Kirsty and Jack were a match from the start, meeting on the popular dating app Hinge.
“We got engaged just over a year after meeting through Hinge,” Kirsty tells us. “Jack told me to pack a bag for a surprise weekend away – I only had 20 minutes to get my things together and we were off!” After whisking Kirsty away, Jack popped the question over a hot chocolate, while the pair were out for a walk.
Kirsty adds, “Jack asked me to marry him on the 1st of December and we got married the following June, so we planned our day quite quickly!”

Dress to Impress
I fell in love with the very first dress I tried on”, gushes Kirsty. “Being a florist and totally in love with flowers, I wanted my dress to have a floral element. I knew my dress was the one because it just felt like I was in a dream as soon as I put it on.”
Kirsty wore ‘Constance’ by Josephine Scott London. A whimsical ballgown made using the softest silk organza with a delicate, all-over floral print. Finished with a statement back-bow, the gown was fit for a fairytale marquee wedding in the countryside.
Groom Jack wore a traditional grey and black tailcoat suit, completing his look with a blush pink tie.
The couple’s five bridesmaids stepped down the aisle in blush pink dresses, finished with fluttery, chiffon sleeves, while the flower girl wore a dress in a matching shade, finished with three-dimensional fabric flowers.

Magical Marquee Wedding
Kirsty and Jack said I do in a religious ceremony at their local church.
“My favourite moment of the entire day was when Jack said ‘I will’ before the vicar had even finished his sentence,” smiles Kirsty.
After their church wedding ceremony, the couple and their guests headed to their marquee wedding reception at The Hoo, Great Gaddesden in rural Hertfordshire.
“We were the very first couple to host a wedding at The Hoo! Our marquee wedding reception was everything we had dreamed of.”
Surrounded by 130 acres of uninterrupted countryside views, the couple were blessed with clear blue skies for their special day.

For the Love of Florals
An abundance of flowers was the order of the day for this wedding, with beautiful blooms everywhere you turned. When asked how the couple decorated their venue, their reply was simple, “Florals everywhere – really we mean everywhere!”
Delicate blooms adorned the pew ends, framed the entranceway and added colour to the altar for the couples’ church ceremony.
At The Hoo, a stunning floral arch provided the perfect photograph backdrop, filled with hydrangea, peonies, delphinium, fox gloves and roses. The marquee wedding venue was a riot of colour with floral arrangements decorating every table.
Outside of the marquee, hay bales were arranged to create a relaxed seating area around a fire pit for the evening and festoon lighting lit the way to the party.

Advice From the Newlyweds
As a wedding and event florist, Kirsty’s first thoughts naturally went to blooms when we asked her what advice she would give to engaged couples . “You might think flowers aren’t an important part of the wedding, but they are – I’m not biased, I promise!” And when we look at the photographs from this wedding, honestly we could agree more!
The couple added, “Make sure you work with suppliers you feel comfortable with. Our best decisions came through focusing on getting the key suppliers right.”
Kirsty and Jack told us they wouldn’t have changed a single thing about their wedding day, “We would do it all again, and again, and again!”
