On our Instagram stories @thebridalbuzzuk we asked you for your wedding hair woes, specifically what you are most worried about when it comes to your hair. Here Tracy Pallari solves your issues with some brilliant wedding hair wisdom (or should that be ‘frizzdom…?’).

Wedding Hair Worry: “That it might frizz.”

TRACY: Start a really good haircare programme at least six months before your wedding day as dry – dehydrated hair is the most likely to misbehave. Bridal stylists have so many amazing products to help treat hair prone to frizz, so trust yours to select those best suited to your hair type and texture. My favourite is Color Wow Dream Coat, which forms a fine protective layer around the hair and works wonders for all hair types.

“Finding someone who can do mixed race hair and European hair.”

TRACY: Most experienced bridal hair specialists can work with every hair type – it’s their ability to choose the correct products, tools and techniques that make the difference. We may need to adapt certain styles to accommodate different hair textures, and experts in their particular fields specialise in mixed-race hair. You can search Instagram and google to find them, and if they have a portfolio of varying looks and great reviews… Book them quickly because these are the ones that get booked well in advance!

“My hair doesn’t have enough volume to have hair left down, but I don’t want an up do. Which styles would work?”

TRACY: You need top-quality clip-in hair extensions – they’re not just for adding length, but can also add incredible volume. When bridal stylists get to work with extra hair, anything is possible so you can consider beachy, tousled curls or Hollywood glamour waves. One of the tricks of our trade is to add 100% real hair extensions, which help support your own curls and avoid them dropping.

“Finding clip-in extensions that match my hair colour.”

TRACY: Trust your regular stylist to help you choose the best match. They can even colour 100% real hair extensions, so they blend with your own hair perfectly. “That it won’t stay in place.”

TRACY: Find the best professional bridal stylist and read their reviews! Our reputations are built from our past brides, and it would be as disastrous for us as it would for you to create wedding hairstyles that don’t last till the last dance! We have so many products available to us which have superior holding properties which, combined with our technical skills, we know exactly what needs to happen to make a hairstyle last.

“I have fine hair and want a curl or at least wave for a winter wedding, will it hold?”

TRACY: Winter weddings can throw all the elements at us, and fine hair can sometimes struggle to hold a curl. So, we have to take extra care when choosing hairstyles and be realistic as to what’s possible, and what could potentially be disastrous. I always advise using clip-in hair extensions, not necessarily for length and volume, but to help maintain the style. This is because extension hair always produces long-lasting waves and curls which support and hold the natural hair.
