GROOMS
SIX menswear trends for 2024

It goes without saying that grooms want to look and feel cool, charming and collected on their big day, and wearing the right thing is about much more than following trends. But trends do exist in men’s formalwear, so here we teamed up with Stephen Bishop from Stephen Bishop Suiting to identify some of the top menswear trends for 2024.
Obviously, what you all wear must suit the season and the setting. Linen will always be preferable for a destination wedding in the sun, and there will always be a call for top hats and tails for those after the most formal of celebrations. But what about accessories, colours and fabrics…?

1. Linen Suits
Ideal for the summer or weddings on the beach, lightweight and comfortable on one hand, prone to creasing on the other. Now available in various colours, linen is a versatile, wholly appropriate material for your summer wedding suit, especially when tamed with a light-coloured shirt.

2. Pastel Perfection
Whether it’s with your waistcoat or through your jacket itself, the pastels are out in force for weddings in the next couple of years. Go matchy-matchy with the bridesmaids for maximum effect and great photos. You could keep it subtle with a pastel-coloured handkerchief or tie…

3. Velvet Jackets
Best suited to evening or autumn/winter weddings, a velvet blazer makes for a suave and elegant groom! Darker colours like deep red or dark blue work well for winter weddings or for a change-up evening look. Team the jacket with a white shirt and black bow tie for the total effect.”

4. Fanciful Florals
Whether it’s a tie, suit lining, hanky or the back of your waistcoat it is great to flash a bit of floral with your big-day outfit. Again, perhaps best to pick up the colours from the flowers or bridesmaids.

5. Something Blue
Feeling blue? You’re not alone! We are seeing many blue suit requests coming through in the shop and at this year’s weddings. There are many shades of blue but blue-grey seems to be topping the list, with cornflower being the accent colour for accessories. This pleases us – it’s a colour closely associated with weddings and suits everything, plus you can actually be your bride’s ‘something blue!’.

6. The Tux
A timeless classic formalwear outfit for the groom, that will have you dressed to impress. 2024 grooms get ready to be groomed to perfection!

It’s clear that you are bound to find something that, erm suits you, with the huge choice available these days. Whether you want to go timeless or trendy is up to you, but by sticking with our menswear trend predictions for 2024, you can’t go far wrong to find yourself with a look that will stand the test of time, and not have you squirming at your wedding photographs in ten years.
