Pastel Wedding Theme Perfection

With the aim of creating a wildly romantic pastel wedding theme, with sumptuous details and contemporary styling, the team behind this styled photoshoot came together and created a whimsical, dreamy feeling through the fashion, florals and styling.

The Venue

Hampton Manor, a 19th-century house on the outskirts of Birmingham, was the venue of choice for this styled photoshoot. Perfectly pairing historic features, like original old stone walls, with modern additions, like the stunning glass-roofed atrium, the venue was the perfect backdrop for styling a modern, pastel wedding theme.

The beautiful walled garden, the lovely outside spaces and the on-site bridal cottage offered plenty of flexibility for the team to bring the photoshoot concept to life. The property’s outside spaces played a key role, with the landscaped gardens and delicate blooms adding to the romantic styling.

Concept and Inspiration

The pretty pastel wedding theme was shown through the florals. Picking up the tones from the pastel wedding gowns, the florist expertly created bouquets filled with pale pink garden roses, lilac clematis and blush Astilbe. The floral arrangements incorporated soft, textured blooms adding to the whimsical vibe.

Playing with height, shape and depth, spaces were framed with dreamy unstructured florals. Floral columns and majestic pillars were alluringly positioned within the gardens creating dreamy photography backdrops.

Progressing the vision, this styled shoot featured not one, but two beautiful wedding cakes. The first, a stunning lilac floating meadow cake. The cake was finished in elegant piped icing details and surrounded by a bed of flowers. The second cake was a crisp white wedding cake with matching piped icing detail, topped with cherries. Both cakes oozed refined elegance and grandeur in equal measure.

The team wanted to create a very romantic feel with their pastel wedding theme, capturing the timeless and romantic moments that weddings are synonymous with.

Dress to Impress

The gowns were carefully selected from Ivory Tower Bridal Couture, featuring a few of the industry’s most-loved designers, including Suzanne Neville, Rosa Clara and Anna Kara.

Chosen for their whimsical ruffles, voluminous layers, delicate prints, elegant lace trains and pretty pastel colours, the dresses created a romantic and glamorous aisle style. The timeless silhouettes and classic lines were paired with pastel prints and chic lace fabrics, giving the finished look a contemporary feel. The stunning dresses helped to create a truly romantic and luxurious feel to the pastel wedding theme.

The hair styling and makeup looks were classically beautiful. The makeup artist used a natural make-up palette, allowing the pastel colours in the rest of the styling to pop. The hairstylist created two different looks to accentuate the necklines of the different dresses, finishing one look with the most gorgeous flower crown.
