A seaside proposal
Daniella and Joe met in 2017 when they were working at their local leisure centre. But it took a whole year for Joe to build up the courage to ask Daniella for a first date.
“After a year of working together, Joe finally built up the courage to ask me on a date,” Daniella smiles. “We went for a meal and time passed so quickly, before we knew it we had been chatting for five hour! We talked about everything, from dream holidays and favourite Disney films to future plans.”
Fast-forward to 2020 and Joe whisked Daniella away to Bournemouth for her birthday weekend.
“The night before my birthday, Joe packed a picnic into a lovely wicker basket and we went to the beach to enjoy dinner by the sea as the sun went down,” Daniella recalls. “Just as the sun was setting, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Through the tears of joy (and surprise!) I said yes.”
Joe even managed to video the proposal without Daniella suspecting a thing. Under the guise of taking a sunset photograph on a timer, he set his phone to video and captured the entire proposal for the couple to look back on in years to come.
Wedding Wardrobe
Daniella confesses she had always dreamed of having the perfect princess wedding – set in a grand country house wedding venue – and that she was not very good at compromising. However, finding her dream dress was easier than she had expected.
“I had plans to go to Cardiff and London in search of my wedding dress, but low and behold, I found it in Joe’s local town. It was the third store I visited,” says Daniella. “I saw a gown on the hanger that I liked, but I wasn’t certain. Then the lady in the boutique told me they were one of only seven stores across the nation to carry the official Disney wedding dress collection and this gown was from that collection.”
“I wanted to be a real-life Princess for the day. I tried the dress on and fell in love with it. I knew it was the one when I was told it was the Snow White Disney dress. My mum and I welled up as we heard this. My Nan had recently passed and Snow White was her favourite Disney princess – it felt like she was saying, yes, that’s the one.”
Daniella made changes to the neckline and added sleeves to the Allure Bridal wedding dress. The A-line gown, adorned with apple blossom floral appliqué and sparkling beadwork, made her feel every bit the princess. She finished her royal look with a fingertip veil and a sparkling diamanté headband.
Going with a bright and bold wedding theme, the bridesmaids looked striking in papaya-orange gowns. The flower girl wore a white dress with a sash in the same orange colour.
“I loved the colour on both of the bridesmaids, despite their different appearances it suited them both,” beams Daniella. “We purchased extra material to make a matching bow for the flower girl’s dress.”
The couple had a vision for Joe and the groomsmen’s suits. They went with tweed to reflect the country house wedding venue. Joe and the best men wore a dark green suit and the rest of the groomsmen wore the same tweed suit in brown. They all wore brown shoes and belts, and accessorised with orange ties and pocket squares for a cohesive look.
A grand occasion
The grand country house wedding venue, St Audries Park won the hearts of Daniella and Joe when they were searching for the perfect place to celebrate their marriage.
The manor house in Somerset was the dream setting for the couple’s fairytale wedding. With elegant grounds, an airy Victorian Orangery and the grand Georgian manor, the venue offered an unforgettable day for Daniella, Joe and their 85 guests. The couple put their stamp on the country house with their bright and bold wedding theme, making their day stand out from the rest.
Daniella advises, “Find your dream venue first and then choose suppliers from their recommended supplier list. This way, you are sure to have a smooth, hassle-free day as all of your suppliers know the venue, each other and the best places to capture photographs, display the cake and decorate with flowers!”
A brilliant bright and bold wedding theme
Daniella and Joe originally thought they would go with a purple and pastel colour scheme, but after chatting to their photographer they decided to go with a bright and bold wedding theme.
They paired Cadbury purple with bright orange for a standout look.
“We went for orange and purple, our favourite colours, for our bright and bold wedding theme. A lot of people thought we were mad and that it was a really odd combination,” they tell us. “But we had confidence in it and we had a vision. It worked amazingly and we got so many compliments. The colours really pop in our photographs, we are so glad we went with it!”
The bold and bright wedding blooms injected a ton of colour, with fragrant orange lilies and purple orchids making an impact among brightly coloured roses and tropical foliage. Adding to the theme, orange sashes were tied into bows on Chavari chairs and the white, iced wedding cake was finished with purple and orange sugar flowers.
Speaking from the heart
Words mean a lot to this romantic couple, who wrote personalised vows. Surrounded by their loved ones in the country house wedding venue’s glass orangery, they declared their love for each other, to the delight of their guests.
In the afternoon they enjoyed listening to what other people had to say when it came to the traditional wedding speeches.
“Although it isn’t everyone else favourite part of a wedding, we both really loved listening to the speeches,” the couple reminisced. “It was so lovely to hear what our loved ones had to say on our special day.”
As evening rolled in, the wedding party danced the night away before wandering to their rooms, staying overnight in their fairytale manor house.
