How did you meet, and when?

We met in May 2018 on Tinder!

What was your budget and did you stick to it?

It was originally £15,000, and I think we ended up spending around £20,000

How many dresses did you try on before you found the one?

I found my day dress online before trying anything on – I always thought this was what I wanted, so found the designer and then the closest store to me… Before this, I went to a sale day at White Lace & Promises in Weston Super Mare and there I found my evening dress – I knew it wasn’t the one but it was very typically ‘me’ and I decided that I would change into it in the evening.

What made your one your ONE?

The sleeves, the fact that it felt so sophisticated, the fit – just everything! And surprisingly I loved the back originally when I saw it online. I thought I would have the back taken out because I wanted backless but when I tried it on I loved it. I normally hate sparkle, but this just had the wow factor!

Was there a theme or colour scheme for your wedding?

Champagne and gold.

How did you decorate your venue?

The company Love with Letters decorated it all.

What were your best decisions for the wedding?

Louis insisted that we had time to ourselves, so after the ceremony and greeting our guests he whisked me off to catch up on our morning part of the day! It was so nice just to have a 10-minute chat to discuss how we felt in that moment. Also, the singing waiters and our photographers were great decisions!

Did you make any cost savings, and how?

No not really. It wasn’t an all-expense spared wedding, but we weren’t going to do it if we couldn’t afford what we wanted.

What were your favourite moments?

The whole day was amazing – I can’t pick a favourite! I don’t think my smile left my face the whole day it was just one huge party with everyone we love! But we also loved the ceremony – before the actual day it was the bit we wanted done and out of the way but we actually loved it, it was full of emotion and it just showed exactly why you were there and getting married.

Any funny things happen? Embarrassing moments?

The shock on Louis’s face because he didn’t know about the singing waiters. Louis had a song written for me and there was a lawnmower in the background when it got played so I couldn’t quite hear it and I didn’t twig it was singing my name until the second verse in!

Did you follow all the traditions?

We tried to yes – we didn’t see each other in the morning the only thing is my dad didn’t do a speech, so my maid of honour did one instead.

What were the challenges of planning and organising the wedding?

Sorting the accommodation for our guests was the hardest part – we had to decide who shared the venue’s cottages and payment had to be made to us, otherwise everything else seemed easy enough.

Did any funny things happen? Embarrassing moments?

Not embarrassing (thank god, lol!), but some funny dancing went on and the people in the photo booth with silly glasses and funny wigs. Our magician was fascinating and extraordinary – he kept the guests hooked!

Did you follow all the traditions?

I think we did most, but the one I remember was different was getting our sisters to be our witnesses for the signing of the register.

What were the challenges of planning and organising the wedding?

It is so easy to get carried away with weddings, so keeping to a budget is a must! Also, trying to organise a wedding in under a year, just after a year of Covid wedding cancellations, made some of our options (available venue and suppliers, for example) more limited than they typically would have been.

Any regrets? Anything you would have done differently?

No regrets whatsoever, we did everything we wanted, had everything we wanted, partied the night away and spent quality time together just as we had wanted to!

What advice do you have for other brides?

Be completely you and have the day you wished for, your guests are there to witness how totally in love you both are so don’t feel bad for spending it with your new husband, party with him drink with him and enjoy your day together!
