A Blossoming Romance
Blossoming spring wedding styling, to inspire your English country wedding day

If you’re planning an English country wedding and looking for a little inspiration, this photoshoot is full of quintessentially British charm. Delicate cherry blossoms became the focal point for the spring wedding styling. Undoubtedly romantic, the soft pink cherry blossoms are scattered through the details, creating an ethereal wedding theme.

The Venue
Nestled between Dartmoor National Park and the Tamar Valley, Hurlditch Court is a stunning choice of venue for an English country wedding. With breathtaking countryside views and the option to host either an intimate elopement wedding or a large wedding celebration, the Grade II listed manor house was the perfect choice of venue for this romantic styled photoshoot.
The spring wedding styling showcased a micro wedding, with an outdoor ceremony looking across the rolling hills of Dartmoor. Ceremonies unfold just steps away from The Gatehouse, the property’s luxury accommodation. The gardens provided plenty of photo backdrops, including fun photographs by the Shepard Huts, posed pictures on the veranda of The Gate House and romantic shots by the lake.

Concept and Inspiration
The English country estate provided a picturesque setting for the romantic wedding theme. Cherry blossoms, with their delicate beauty, became the main inspiration for the spring wedding styling. Sprigs of cherry blossom were incorporated into the bouquet and buttonhole, paired with frilly roses and fragrant eucalyptus. A rustic arch framed the countryside view at the end of the aisle, finished with branches of cherry blossom.
The colour palette revolved around soft, muted tones, with hints of cherry blossom pink. The minimalistic approach to decor and styling allowed the natural beauty of the English country wedding to shine, while the pops of pink added a touch of whimsy and romance.
A single-tier buttercream cake – plenty for a micro wedding – was adorned with a sprig of cherry blossom and displayed on a mirror tray. The stationery suite featured a touch of pastel pink with a dainty cherry blossom design paired with elegant calligraphy text. The soft pink theme continued into the tablescapes, with pink ceramic plates paired with gold cutlery, crystal glasses and glass candlesticks. Branches of blossoms created the romantically rustic centrepieces.

Aisle Style
The bride wore an elegant fit-and-flare gown with a sweeping train. Whimsical sheer, puff sleeves gave the modern gown a romantic finish. Dainty buttons ran down the back of the gown and lined the cuffs of the sleeves. The dress featured a low back and detachable trailing tulle that echoed the romantic notion of the wedding veil. Pale pink heels completed the aisle style, which were swapped for Wellington boots later in the day. The makeup look featured soft pink hues and the elegant hair-up-do was finished with delicate blooms in keeping with the rest of the spring wedding styling.
Black tie was the order of the day for the groom, who looked dapper in a formal suit, which was also later paired with Wellington boots in a nod to the countryside setting.
The bridesmaid looked pretty in pink. Her tea-length gown was paired with little ballet pumps and a beautiful bouquet to match the blooms the bride carried.
The shoot aimed to capture the joy and simplicity of an elopement, showcasing that a wedding can be both minimal and fun. From the bride’s flowing gown to the groom’s tailored suit, every detail was carefully selected to reflect the charm of an intimate celebration.
